Adam Franklin - Spent Bullets [Second Motion]

Swirly super-melodic post shoegazing yummy-ness from the man behind Swervedriver.  This is Adam Franklin's second release under his own name, following on the heels of 2007's wonderful "Bolts of Melody" disc.  Here we have the distillation of Hendrix-y psychedelic whirly-whammy and a truely English sensibility of what a surf and art damaged pop song should sound like. Folks who were at the Marquis in Denver at the Swervedriver reunion show last year know what that amazing and under-rated band can do.  Adam Franklin's solo efforts have expanded on the trippy production values and stellar hooks, while making futuristic sounds.  Records in your collection it sounds like: Syd Barrett, Early Who, The Creation and Mark Kozelek/Red House Painters.  Track 6 quotes "Crimson In Clover"...

"Spent Bullets" is currently featured in 1190's new rotation.
