Sad news

One of my absolute favorite labels, Touch and Go, announced last week that they're downsizing. They're not completely shutting down, just stopping the distribution services they used to run. Instead of distributing music by other indie labels like Merge, Thrill Jockey and Dim Mak they are going to focus solely on being an independent record label. There have been different reports on whether they'll still be signing new acts.

In honor of Touch and Go check out the new Sholi album that's in rotation right now on T & G's sister label Quarterstick. Really pretty math rock that's not boring like math rock often can be. The band also put out a great 7" last year that has one cover of Joanna Newsom and another cover of Iranian pop-goddess Googoosh.
